Where do I find information on subscriptions, shipping & purchasing?
Please see our FAQ page for all these things!
What materials go in to your diapers & pull-ups?
We have carefully chosen the materials to be as eco-friendly and non-toxic as possible. The top sheet touching your baby have bio-based materials (diapers only), while the totally chlorine free core (TCF) is made from super absorbent polymers and FSC® Mix (C145475) certified wood pulp – sourced from responsibly managed forests.
Note – our pull-ups currently do not have the bio-based topsheet, but we are actively working on introducing that soon once our supplier finishes real world testing!
Are your diapers & pull-ups biodegradable?
Our diapers are partially biodegradable, with the topsheet that touches baby containing bio materials. We had to balance price and performance vs environmental considerations when deciding on materials.
Sustainability features have also been built in, such as FSC certified wood fluff and bags made from partially recycled plastic. Our pull-ups do not yet have the bio-based topsheet but we are working on including this in the future once sufficient testing has been done to measure real world performance.
Where are your diapers & pull-ups manufactured?
Our diapers & pull-ups are made in Denmark by a manufacturer at the cutting edge of nappy technology. We literally scoured the globe in the hunt for the best supplier.
Why am I getting leaks?
We put together a helpful guide on leaks as a blog article here.
Hint - its always a sizing issue!
What does the FSC Mix claim represent?
We are very proud to be featuring this logo, which means at least 70% of the wood fluff in our diaper/pull-up core comes from responsibly managed forests that are independently certified to FSC standards. The remainder comes from controlled wood sources. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) ensures the harvest of timber products maintains the forest’s biodiversity, productivity, and ecological processes. It means that forest operations are structured and managed to be sufficiently profitable, without generating financial profit at the expense of the forest resource, the ecosystem, or affected communities. By providing strong incentives to sustain forest resources with long-term management plans, it means both locals and society at large can enjoy long term benefits. Together, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Joonya are providing a product that delivers a brighter future for the next generation. What does the Dermatest seal mean?
The “Original DERMATEST®” seal confirms that our diapers and pull-ups do not cause skin irritation or hypersensitivity to the skin after dermatological testing. Products certified with this seal keep the promise of tested and confirmed quality. The test procedure involved a small sample of the top sheet, ears and tabs being applied to the skin of 30 panelists via an occlusive patch at a suitable concentration. In this test panel there were people with very dry, oily, normal and sensitive skin. The skin is checked at 24, 48 and 72 hour intervals. A positive reaction provides evidence of primary irritation to the substances. In conclusion, all 30 panelists experienced ‘no reaction’ to the test sample. Are your diapers & pull-ups vegan & free of testing on animals?
All Joonya products are vegan and free of any testing on animals. Joonya is proud to be certified by PETA (peta.org).
I can see thin stripes when I hold up your diaper/pull-up to the light - is this a product fault?
The thin stripes you see are channels and are definitely not a product fault! In fact these channels are designed to whisk moisture away from baby's skin, giving him or her a longer sleep! Channel technology is becoming the new standard now for advanced diapers & pull-ups.
Do you have a wetness indicator on your diapers & pull-ups?
Our diapers and pullups don't have a wetness indicator as they are ultra thin and easy to tell when it needs to be changed. We opted to not use one as they usually contain questionable chemicals. We have had no complaints!
How do I know your diapers & pull-ups are safe to use on delicate, rash prone skin? Do you test for harmful chemicals?
Our skin-friendly diapers & pull-ups are designed especially to protect sensitive skin and reduce the risk of allergies and rash. The super absorbent core uses the latest innovative channel technology to whisk moisture away from skin to keep your child dry for longer.
We believe you deserve full transparency regarding the ingredients that come in contact with your child’s skin. Independent chemical testing is performed by Eurofins laboratory. The results are published on our website here. We have chosen an extensive list of harmful chemicals to test for, including some common PFAS (there are thousands of different types and it is very hard to test for all of them).
The prestigious German Dermatest Seal confirms our diapers & pull-ups have passed rigorous patch testing on sensitive skin. No rash or allergic reaction was evident in the sample group.
Allergy Certified confirms all our materials have been carefully examined by a toxicologist for allergens, impurities, carcinogens & endocrine disrupting chemicals. We successfully passed the allergy risk assessment.
I'm a new parent - how do I change a diaper?
This is the best part of having babies…let’s do this! We recommend you follow the steps below:
1. Choose a safe, flat and secure surface to change your baby and lie them on their back.
2. Open out the diaper and slide your fingers down the side to lift up the leak guards.
3. Lift your baby’s legs up and place underneath so they are lying on it & ensure tabs are at the back.
4. Peel back the grip tabs and secure on the front panel.
5. Reposition the grip tabs to adjust the fit of your baby’s diaper so they are comfortable. Double-check that the diaper does not feel too loose or too tight.
6. When disposing of diaper, please place in the garbage bin. Do not recycle or flush down toilet.
